We live in such a messed up society. That statement may echo in a lot of people’s heads today, but it doesn’t excuse us from being “messed-up”. Yes, it may feel like we are living in Isaiah’s verse twenty from his fifth chapter “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! “. But if you’re a true Believer Jesus gave us two truths and a challenge, just as He gave them to His Disciples in John 16:33 “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
If you are “in” Christ, trusted Him as your personal Saviour, He has given you peace. That peace came through faith, Romans 5:1, and that peace was obtained through Jesus’ blood- Colossians 1:20. So be of good cheer.
If you are a Believer, then you are right now in this world, so, when you experience some tribulation or persecution, mark it down Jesus already knew it was coming, and He will take care of you – Romans 8:28. So be of good cheer.
Those were the two truths that Jesus gave us and the challenge is to now be a “godly-cheer-leader”. You’re in Christ, you may be having some hard times, but Christ knows and cares about them, and even more important He is able to do something about them. With all that being stated now it’s time to be an encourager. There are others who may have forgotten or just don’t know that they have peace and you can be the one person in their life to “cheer’ them on.
So, let’s be “godly cheer-leaders”, because Heaven knows we are in need some cheering up in our lives.
